A fast growing, medium sized, deciduous tree . Conical / pyramidal in shape and with deeply cut, almost oak-leaf shaped foliage which gives a feathery effect. As a form of the native Alder, it bears brown flowers in early and mid Spring and can withstand hard pruning. It grows well in semi-shade and direct sun, preferring moist soils but can withstand some flooding.
